What is MOPS?
MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership with the local church.
MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers”- but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from infancy through kindergarten.
Is MOPS for Me?
Whether you’re urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you! At MOPS, you’ll be welcomed, accepted and inspired to reach your full potential and recognize your influence within your family and the world!
What is a MOPS meeting like?
Savannah Islands MOPS starts September 9 and meets at the First Baptist Church of the Islands from 9:15-11:30 a.m. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from September through May. We understand what unique needs and challenges you face during those first important years of mothering. We welcome everyone just as they are. At MOPS you will have a chance to socialize with other moms, make new friends, hear some great speakers on relevant mom topics, eat good food, have discussion time and participate in creative activities.
What childcare is provided?
the MOPS meetings, your children will be cared for in a program called
MOPPETS, where they experience a preschool style setting. Your children
will be given a snack, changed when necessary, and older children will
use a Christian curriculum. All of our childcare providers have a
personal relationship with Christ and have undergone background checks. Childcare is FREE but space is limited, so we ask that you please register your MOPPET with one of our MOPPET coordinators!
